Madrid is literally a city where you find restaurants around every corner – and every time I go I always find new places to try. Spanish food is traditionally very simple, often based on peasant food and designed to warm the soul. Nowadays since traditional food still dominates Madrid, the freshness and quality of ingredients make all the difference between the best restaurants. Right now Pink Monkey, La Mucca, Bibo is places I wouldn’t miss for a short weekend. I have to say that one of our best meals was at our apartment – a classic tapas lunch with everything from empanadas to tortilla de patata and red Spanish wine of course x
Love to walk around in Soho – London. Usually it’s not to much people and they have a lot of smaller shops and cafés. Kingly Court is difficult to find if you don’t know what you are looking for – its basically just a door but when you enter it’s lika a small magical square. My favorite place is called Whyte & Brown – their menu is fantastic – don’t miss! x
Mykonos has sooo many great beach-clubs depending what you like. One of the most famous ones is – Scorpios. I think it’s a great place but of course I have a few thing I would like to change hehe. All thought they’ve uninterrupted views of the generous Cycladic sun, a few dozen wooden cabanas and sunbeds that blend discreetly with their natural surroundings. Go there Tuesdays or Sundays and definitiv try their restaurant, a lot of vegan and vegetarian options and drink cocktails – I had a big watermelon-juice and a Berry Secret, that’s a cocktail with vodka, homemade ginger sirup and passionfruit yuuuum xx
Amsterdam has more to see than Red Light and Coffee-shops. The city has 165 canals and over 1200 bridges (that is more than Venice). Our first goal wast to find men, wine and lunch in the sun of course. Ended up at Pulitzer Hotel – they have a hidden garden nestled at the center of the hotel. This part’s located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it is a tranquil hideaway to relax or socialize among seasonal plants and playful sculptures. My favorite was their salted-caramel macaron xx
Guess where I’m going this weekend? AMSTERDAM! Been one of my must-visit cities forever AND of course when I heard about Open-Air there was no doubt. Going with Rosie and a few of her friends, they seem amazing and we already have a lot planned or us. More info about the apartment we’re renting and our plans there are comiii’n. SOOOO EXCITED, now I have to write 3 essays and lots of work before I can start organizing my packing x
This you should know this before you visit Amsterdam.
HOW MANY BICYCLES ARE THERE IN AMSTERDAM?
According to the most recent figures, the 850.000 residents of Amsterdam together own 847.000 bicycles. That represents 1.91 bicyles per household.
HOW MANY CANALS ARE THERE IN AMSTERDAM?
Amsterdam has 165 canals — with a combined length of 100 KM (60 Miles)
CAN YOU SWIM IN THE CANALS?
Yes and no. People do swim in the canals — illegally or at ‘official unofficial’ spots. And then there’s Amsterdam City Swim an annual fundraising event — prior to which extra sanitation of the water takes place. After all, canal swimmers have to take into account certain hazards.
WHY IS EVERYONE WEARING ORANGE CLOTHES?
Huh? We don’t. Well, actually, we do — but only on certain occasions. Orange is the color of the Dutch Royal Family, which hails from the House of Orange.
You’ll find @Nikolas Taverna on Paraga beach, been there since 1967. A family restaurant with much passion and desire for quality homemade food. Open daily, from early morning to late night. Every day they have new specialties on the meny and you can even catch your own lobster in the kitchen haha. I tried sea urchin (sjöborre) for the first time, saganaki-cheese ofc and we ate gambas in ouzo, garlic and chili yuuum xx
One of the nights in Warsaw we really wanted to go to some sort of roof-top’ish bar but ended up at Panorama Sky Bar in one of the biggest Marriot’s here. Stayed for a few drinks but instead of going out we took the elevator down to one Italian restaurant we heard a lot about – Parmizzano’s. The food was really goood and look at my date, the most gorgeous girl in town xx
LA LAGUNA, located in Jalan Pantai Kayu Putih, Berawa – Canggu is a quirky, cool new venue that will wow most travellers. With a great menu and delicious cocktails, you can’t go wrong with a visit to La Laguna. Works both day and night. MY AMAZING friends brought my here for late birthday celebrations. We ate tapas so lots of cheese, potatas bravas etc.
Can not describe in words how happy I was after this. I have the most wonderful friends and do not miss La Laguna if you’re around xx
